Did you know that? God, the Creator of all things good is in love with you. And there’s proof.
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 NIV
We’ve all had times of self-doubt. Times where you feel unsure of yourself. Times where you are shook so hard by something that you have to pause and ask, “Am I even supposed to be here?” Am I any good? Am I loved by anyone? The answer is yes. You are so loved.
Nothing Can Separate You From God’s Love
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
It is human nature to doubt things that seem too good to be true. After reading that scripture a long list of reasons that God shouldn’t love you probably popped in your head. That list could include things like:
- The color of your skin;
- the number of white lies you’ve told;
- the amount of laundry piled in the hamper (or laid out on the floor);
- the time you asked for a water cup and filled it with… not water;
- the times you walked right when God said left;
- your disbelief in His power and existence;
- your misinterpretation of His Word.
None of that will stop God from loving you. Nothing can separate you from God’s love.
God’s Love Leads You to Righteousness
Don’t get it twisted—God is going to call out the ways you’ve been wrong and get you right. He will kindly escort you back to the straight and narrow path He intended you to walk on. And He will do it all while loving you truly, madly, deeply. That thing you think is a permanent stain on your life..God can wash it clean and white as snow. He can also change your perspective to see that “stain” as a beautiful splash of paint adding color and dimension to your life. God’s love is dope like that.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails…
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV
Moment of Truth: Sometimes the love and truth presented in the Bible doesn’t feel like enough. You read the verses over and over again trying to feel better. Trying to change your mind. Trying to believe in God’s love for you…but you don’t feel loved. You still don’t see yourself as lovable—but you are! You are so loved. Want some help finding love for yourself?
Ask God to Show You Love
Why not? Why wouldn’t you ask God for love? Maybe you have not, because you ask not. So, consult the one who loved the idea of you so much that He brought you into this world. Ask Him:
God, what do you love about me?
Will you send me a sign of your love?
Lookout for Love
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
John 15:7 NIV
You can ask God for rain to fall on the right, but if you’re looking left you will surely miss it. So be on the lookout for love! Open your eyes and your heart to the love that God has for you.
Have you seen God’s love for you?
